If you are a writer in Canada, then you are probably already familiar with this writing contest. But, if not, it’s time for you to learn about the annual Toronto Star Short Story Contest. As one of the most lucrative competitions in Canada, the contest gives writers a chance to win $5,000 plus the tuition fee for a 30-week creative writing correspondence program at the Humber School for Writers.
Want in? Ontario residents only need to submit a previously unpublished short story (any topic) that is under 2,500 words. There is a limit of one entry per author.
Authors have until February 27, 2015 to submit their works. You can find the rules around submissions here.
