Writing Contests: Apex Christmas Fiction Contest

Pull out your quill and enter some writing contestsLooking to earn some extra money with some writing contests? Christmas can be a time of joy, tinsel and even dread. Apex Magazine is running is Merry Little Apex Christmas Flash Fiction contest and is looking for short stories about Christmas with a dark science fiction, horror or fantasy slant.

More than 20% of teens and adults in the U.S. read below a fifth grade level. Create your own age-appropriate stories for over forty million readers and you could win a prize in the Story Share writing contest. Submission deadline is December 7, 2013.

Writing Contests: Calling all family history writers

Writing contests require your final draftIf you are the keeper of your family history and love entering writing contests, then this is your day. Whether your medium is through blog, newspaper, poetry or story, you can submit your family history story to the International Society of Family History Writers and EditorsĀ  for its annual Excellence in Writing competition.

Entries written during the current calendar year will be accepted through June 15, 2014, so there is plenty of time to get started if you haven’t already. Details on the competition and entry package can be found here.

Writing Contests: The one about bridges
