Writing Contests: Flash fiction summer

Writing contests require your final draftThis is a summer for flash fiction writing contests. Luminous Creatures Press is holding 10 flash fiction contests every Thursday staring June 19, 2014.

You’ll have until the following Saturday to post your 500 word story in the website’s comments and see how many rounds of the summer writing contests you can win.

There’s no fee to enter, just hop over to the blog and check out the prompts every week.

Writing Contests: Dialogue Only

Bartleby Snopes Literary Magazine wants to read a story of only dialogue. The entry cannot use any narration, including tag lines of he said or she said, and must be under 2,000 words. Other than those rules, your entry does not have to follow standard dialogue rules.

Writing Contests: Finding the world’s best story

Pull out your quill and enter some writing contestsUnlike other writing contests, this one spans all genres. The World’s Best Story is looking for a tale that will span all media genres — from print to video games, blogs to film and everything in between. If you think you have an all-encompassing story of at least 50,000 words that falls under general fiction, mystery, fantasy, horror, romance, young adult or action, you can enter the free contest for your chance to win a publishing contract and several other prizes.Interested writers can enter their manuscripts for free at The World’s Best Story website, but make sure to read all the rules and guidelines first.
